Our Pedigree: An Evolution Since 1972

Today's Custom Conventions is the evolution of custom convention
service that began in 1972 with the formation of the official
transportation group to manage the airport/hotel services
for the City of New Orleans. The city boomed as a convention
and meeting site. Our services were expanded into touring
and custom services achieving a number of firsts including
first mini-bus per capita sightseeing and the first company
to use and train tour guides.

Demand for all sectors of services expanded so rapidly that
it was necessary to divide the corporation into separate,
specialized companies and Custom Conventions was established
in 1979 to provide custom and package services and coordinate
the services of all the suppliers needed to meet client demands.
For nearly a decade now, we have provided every type of service
to corporations and conventions, for individual VIP's to more
than 8,000 delegates.

An Invitation From Custom Conventions

The Emissary of the President was meeting with an Emperor
in the Emperor's Palace in Paris. It was a grand setting,
and a heady experience for the Emissary, a man of considerable
esteem, but a humble man.
The President's instructions were clear: purchase
"that one spot on earth without which our young
nation cannot prosper and the ruler of which would rule
from this point in history."

In the initial meeting the Emperor acceded to the demand
to sell "that one spot" and then threw in, for the
same price, more than one-third of the total land available
to these United States of America. Thomas Jefferson, the President,
and Benjamin Franklin, our Emissary to Napoleon's Court, never
dreamed of the Louisiana Purchase.
The City today retains that charm, those structures, that
sense of place and history that is too often not captured
by those who visit. We can give you the feel of New Orleans,
the moods and the pleasures that have made this City world
renowned for more than 250 years. We are prepared to offer
to your guests New Orleans: her music, her food, the ambiance
and the difference.
